About
The Apidae Chromosome Database is an online resource to gather information on chromosome number and nuclear genome size on bee species from all over the world.
Considering the importance of cytogenetic studies for taxonomy, phylogeny, genetics, systematics, conservation, and evolution, the main goal of this database is to outline what has been done in the field of bee cytogenetics over the last century.
Together with the Ant Chromosome database ACdb (www.ants.ufop.br), we have a common goal to contribute to future studies involving systematics, evolution, and chromosome biology in the order Hymenoptera. All users are invited to submit new counts and karyotype information from published data and also help us to identify possible erroneous counts.
